Data collection no longer represents a problem, although its processing is still difficult because of the many manufacturer-specific solutions involved. This is why, when it comes to investment decisions, the aim should be a uniform standard for communication and data exchange systems.

Elektronik ist in vielfältiger Weise zum Zukunftstrend der Landtechnik geworden. Die Datenerfassung stellt dabei kein Problem mehr dar, allerdings ist die Verarbeitung der Daten wegen der vielen herstellerspezifischen Lösungen schwierig. Bei Investitionsentscheidungen sollte daher auf einen einheitlichen Standard der Kommunikations- und Datenaustauschsysteme geachtet werden.

After a few years of neglect wheat appears attractive once again for researchers and companies. Above all in the USA and Australia it could be that genetechnology has a key role in this respect. This could damage the competitiveness of European wheat. But only if there are markets that accept such GM wheat.

Weizen scheint nach einigen Jahren der Vernachlässigung für Forscher und Firmen wieder attraktiv zu sein. Vor allem in den USA und in Australien soll die Gentechnik dabei eine Schlüsselrolle spielen. Das könnte die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit des europäischen Weizens verschlechtern. Aber nur, falls es Märkte gibt, die solchen GVO-Weizen aufnehmen.

Après avoir été délaissé pendant plusieurs années par les chercheurs et les obtenteurs, le blé semble avoir retrouvé de l’attractivité à leurs yeux. C’est avant tout aux Etats-Unis et en Australie que le génie génétique a joué un rôle clé. Cela pourrait affaiblir la compétitivité du blé européen. Mais uniquement s’il existe des marchés prêts à accepter des blés OGM.

The world demand for energy is constantly increasing and dependency on fossil fuels is rising at the same time. Solar electricity could contribute towards stilling the enormous hunger for energy. If the gigantic Desertec project provides what it promises, North Africa and the Middle East could in the future supply substantial amounts of renewable energy to Europe.

Der Weltenergiebedarf steigt ständig, gleichzeitig nimmt die Abhängigkeit von fossilen Energieträgern zu. Solarstrom könnte dazu beitragen, den gewaltigen Energiehunter zu stillen. Wenn das gigantische Projekt Desertec hält, was es verspricht, könnten Nordafrika und der Nahe Osten künftig erhebliche Mengen erneuerbare Energien nach Europa liefern.

Les besoins énergétiques de la planète sont en constante progression. Parallèlement, notre dépendance qux énergies fossiles augmente. L'électricité solaire pourrait contribuer à apaiser notre énorme appétit énergétique. Si le gigantesque projet Desertec tient ce qu'ill promet, l'Afrique du nord et le Proch-Orient purraient livrer à terme à l'Europe une grande part de ses énergies renouvelables.
