Publisher of agrifuture

German Agricultural Society (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft, DLG) is a politically neutral and financially independent organisation. For more than 110 years DLG has been contributing to the development of agriculture and agro-industry. Today DLG has about 16,000 individual and corporate members from the German and increasingly the European agricultural sector and its related industries, and from the fields of agricultural consulting, science, etc.

The main activities are the discussion and analysis of key issues in agriculture and the food industry and the elaboration of suggestions and problem solutions. DLG carries out quality contests for food and food products, conducts performance tests of agricultural machinery and implements and organises the internationally renowned specialist exhibitions such as Agritechnica and Eurotier.

On a European level DLG operates an information network within the framework of the European Agricultural Societies' Partnership (EASP) together with the agricultural societies of Britain, France, Denmark, Norway and Sweden, with the clubs of European arable farmers, pig producers, poultry producers and dairy farmers and with a number of European interest groups, who are an integrated part of DLG's communication work. Special attention is focused on the development of agriculture and the food industry in selected countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
